Batignolles

Batignolles

Famous for being a peacefull and quiet area. It's like living in a village, with its outside market, its church, its cemetery and its garden.

Between country and city, close to Montmartre, it's definitely one of the best area to take some rest  and remind of the painting artists who used to come and live here: Manet, Degas, Cezanne, Renoir, Monet... as well as famous writers: Zola, Verlaine (resting near Blaise Cendras and Andre Breton at the Batignolles cemetery), Max Jacob, Eluard, Simenon, etc.
