The Montmartre are used to be a village, attached to Paris in the XIXth century. It's on the top of a hill (130 m high). The Montmartre area is the most part of the 18th district, it's very touristic with Place Dutertre, Lepic street and the cafe des Deux Moulins (famous for being mentionned in the movie picture "Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain"), Saint Vincent street.

The Montmartre area used to be a popular village, nowdays it's mostly frequented by fancy people; but it keeps its authentic atmosphere.

To go on top of the hill, starting from Anver metro station : take Steinkerque street, then on the left Orsel street, on the right Trois Freres street, on the left Yvonne le Tac street, and after Abesses Place take Saules street, on the left Saint Vincent street, then on the left again you will take the stairs to go to Junot avenue, twice on the right Lepic street, until Maistre street on the right, Caulaincourt street on the left, then Clichy Boulevard and Rochechouard Boulevard to finaly arrive at Anvers garden.
